Government and Agency Funding
Individuals qualifying for tuition assistance through federal and state agencies have the opportunity to seek assistance in obtaining their benefits through our Agency Department. Agency specialists in this department are available to answer your questions, assist you with protocol and policies in obtaining your specific benefit, and will work with you and your counselor. The following are examples of the areas in which we have expertise:
- State Vocational Rehabilitation – You may qualify if you have a learning disability, physical disability, need a special accommodation.
- Workforce Investment Act (WIA) – Dislocated workers and disadvantage youth programs. You may qualify if you have lost your job due to a layoff or job was outsourced to a foreign competitor. Individuals under the age of 21 whose families are receiving public assistance.
- Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) Dislocated workers. You may qualify if your plant closed because the business was outsourced to a foreign competitor. Your company will let your know if they are approved for TAA or NAFTA.
- Veteran’s Administration Vocational Rehabilitation – You may qualify if you were released from the military with a disability rating of 20% or higher and the rating is less than 10 years old. If you are eligible for survivor benefits or if you are an unemployed veteran and have been out of the military for less than 48 months.
- National Guard and/or Reservist: There are tuition assistance programs available for members of the National Guard and for Reservists.
- Individuals qualifying for workers compensation.
- Foster Children – Grants are available for individuals up to the age of 24 ½ years of age with Ward of the Court documents.
